“We are especially pleased with the high-caliber of this year’s CODiE Award winners. The products selected as finalists stand as a testament to the dedication finalist companies have not only to meet, but also to exceed their customer and partner expectations,” noted SIIA Vice President for the Content Division, Kathy Greenler Sexton. “This was an extremely competitive year for the Content CODiE Awards.”

Winners were announced during a special Awards luncheon on January 31st in New York City during the SIIA’s annual flagship conference for information industry leaders, IIS 2013: Breakthrough.

The SIIA CODiE Awards are the industry’s only peer-reviewed awards program. The first round review of all nominees is conducted by media, publishing, and information services executives with considerable industry expertise, including members of the industry, analysts, media and bloggers, bankers and investors. The judges are responsible for selecting the CODiE Awards finalists. SIIA members then vote on the finalist products and scores from both rounds are tabulated to select the winners.

TEMIS Wins 2012 LT-Innovate Award

On 19 June 2012, Brussels was the meeting point for LT-Innovate members and representatives from the Language Technology Industry to network, discuss needs, strategies, innovation opportunities and business trends. The LT-Innovate Summit brought together all major players involved in Language Technology (LT) such as vendors and buyers, experts and investors, researchers and policy makers, enhancing the visibility of the fragmented European LT landscape and establishing LT as a key enabling technology for Europe.

31 LT companies presented their activities in front of an audience and an Expert Jury composed of major players involved in LT with a solid background and experience in the development of innovative practices in the LT arena.  The Expert Jury rated each presentation based on the following criteria:
Innovativeness – Business potential – Team experience – Competitive position – Investment or partnering interest – Project profile quality.

The 12 best presentations of the LT-Innovate Showcases were awarded the LT-Innovate trophy during the Award Ceremony. The LT-Innovate trophy was handed to them personally by Amelia Andersdotter, Seán Kelly and Katarina Neveďalová, Members of the European Parliament.

“It is encouraging to see how the language diversity of the European Union provides such a good basis for innovation and entrepreneurship in the field of language technology”, said Amelia Andersdotter, Member of the European Parliament.

“TEMIS has over the years built up a strong install base – and our clients are asking for ever more scenarios and domains to be covered by Luxid®. This is why we are currently inviting third parties to become active on this market – for their own benefit: Partners will find options for monetization of their existing resources and competencies. That the LT-Innovate community welcomes that model is a strong encouragement for us to proceed in this direction”, explains Stefan Geissler, Director of TEMIS Germany.

TEMIS, the leading provider of Semantic Content Enrichment for the Enterprise, is proud to announce it has been named a finalist by the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), the principal trade association for the software and digital content industries, for its 26th annual CODiE™ Awards.

In 2010, TEMIS had won the CODiE Award for “Best Business Intelligence or Knowledge Management Solution”. This year, TEMIS has been selected for its excellence in the “Best Content Management Solution” category. This award recognizes the best software or platform that enables the creation, management and modification of information on the web. It includes content creation, categorization, workflow, publishing and delivery tools.

The CODiE Awards, originally called the Excellence in Software Awards, were established in 1986, so that pioneers of the then‐nascent software industry could evaluate and honor each other’s work. Since then, the CODiE Awards program showcases the software and information industry’s finest products and services and recognizes excellence in corporate achievement.

Selected products underwent an extensive review by judges via live demonstration, as well as trial product access. Finalists will now be reviewed by SIIA members, who will vote on winners for 26 categories. The winners will be announced on Wednesday, May 25th at the CODiE Awards Luncheon, to be held as part of the SIIA All ‘About the Cloud’ Conference.

The growth in participation certainly mirrors what we are seeing as priorities in the business software market – especially the need for effective integration of applications and demand for powerful security solutions.”

Luxid® is a powerful and scalable semantic content enrichment and knowledge discovery solution, dramatically improving content findability and discoverability. Luxid® leverages unique, patented TEMIS semantic technology to automatically extract highly relevant metadata (including topics, entities, relationships, sentiments, and categories) from unstructured content.

In online publications, the resulting richer metadata can be used to:
• boost search engines performance by enhancing the relevance of results,
• enable efficient drill-down in search results by feeding semantic search facets,
• provide perspective by recommending related or similar documents and knowledge,
• drive insight through analytics and visualization tools.

By making online information products more compelling, semantic content enrichment boosts the value of online titles and helps engage, retain and cross-sell to Publishers’ audiences.
